ऐ ज़िन्दगी मुझे ले चल वहां जहाँ वक़्त कि कोई सीमा ना हो, दुनिया कि कोई रीत ना हो, समाज का कोई बंधन ना हो, दुःख से किसी को पीड़ा ना हो,  इतनी दूर चली जाऊं मैं, कि.... वापसी का रास्ता ना हो! ना वहां ज़मीन हो, ना ही आसमान हो, रंगों में बस सफ़ेद का ही नाम हो, ना शंख हो, ना आज़ान हो, ना सुर हों, ना ही कोई ताल हो, ना धूप हो, ना वर्षा कि बौछार हो, उदासी और आसुओं का ना कोई स्थान हो, इतनी दूर चली जाऊं मैं, कि.... वापसी का रास्ता ना हो! सुख और दुःख का खेला ना हो, खोने पाने का झेमला ना हो, रिश्ते नातों का मेला ना हो, जाना चाहती हूँ ऐसी जगह जहाँ कोई कभी अकेला ना हो, इतनी दूर चली जाऊं मैं, कि.... वापसी का रास्ता ना हो! पता है मुझे, ऐसा कभी हो नहीं सकता यहाँ से कोई भाग नहीं सकता, जो करा है, भरना यहीं पड़ेगा, सुख-दुःख भोगना पड़ेगा, साँसों को पूरा करना पड़ेगा, जीवन तो पूरा जीना पड़ेगा, फिर भी क्यूँ मन करता है मेरा कोई ठिकाना ऐसा हो, जहाँ चली जाऊं मैं, और वापसी का रास्ता ना हो!              ...

हर दिन एक सा नहीं है हर रात सुकून भरी नहीं है, कब किसे जगाये, कब किसे सुलाए, ये वक़्त किसी का सगा नहीं है,   वक़्त वक़्त कि बात है....वक़्त किसी का नहीं है! कभी लगे दुनिया हसीन, तो कभी लगे नमकीन, कभी हंसाये तो कभी रुलाये, कभी करवटें दिलाये तो कभी थपकी देके सुलाए, पल-पल कि माला से बनती ज़िन्दगी कि लड़ी है, कब टूट जाए ये डोर किसी को पता नहीं  है, वक़्त वक़्त कि बात है.... वक़्त किसी का नहीं है! जब कारे बादल ढक लें  किरणों को अपनी ओड़ में जब कुछ समझ ना आये जीवन कि भाग-दौड़ में, जब सूरज लगे उदास और चंदा लगे निराश, जब कोयल गाये बेराग और मिठास लगे खटास, समझ लेना जो बोया था उसे पाने कि घड़ी नज़दीक ही  है, वक़्त कि पोटली अब भर चुकी  है, वक़्त वक़्त कि बात है.... वक़्त किसी का नहीं है!    रंगों से खेलना सबको भाता है हर कोई अपनी ही धुन में गाता है, रंगों का क्या कहना, रंगीन ज़िन्दगी सब चाहते हैं, तभी तो अपनी अलग धुन सब बनाते हैं, मगर दीवानों, गुम ना जाना इस मेले में, भूल ना जाना जीवन के खेले...

सोचती हूँ सोचूं यूँही बैठे-बैठे ख्याल आया की कुछ सोचूं, जब सोचने बैठी तो लगा क्या होगा सोचके, क्या लोग बदल जाएंगे, या वक़्त बदल जाएगा, ज़िन्दगी आसान हो जाएगी, या इंसान कि बुद्धि राह पे आएगी, सोचती हूँ सोचूं लेकिन क्या सोचूं! ये ज़िन्दगी क्यूँ है, हम इन्सान क्यों हैं, हम जीते क्यूँ हैं, हम मरते क्यूँ हैं, वक़्त क्यूँ ठहर नहीं जाता, सब अछा क्यूँ  हो  नहीं जाता, झूठ मर क्यूँ नहीं जाता, सच वक़्त पे सामने क्यूँ नहीं आता, सोचती हूँ सोचूं लेकिन क्यूँ सोचूं! रह-रह के ख्याल आता है मन में अगर सब सोचें तो क्या होगा जीवन में, सुधर जाएंगे सबके रात दिन, थोड़ा आसन हो जाएगा जीवन, जीवन साँसों की नाज़ुक कड़ी है, दुनिया जीवन की परीक्षा लेने खड़ी है, क्यों न इस परीक्षा की घड़ी में, दें एक दुसरे का साथ, और बनाएं पूरी दुनिया को अपना परिवार! सोचती हूँ सोचूं लेकिन कब सोचूं! जब सब खत्म हो जाएगा तब, या लड़ते-लड़ते थक जाउंगी तब, जब थक जाएगी ज़िन्दगी तब, या मैं ज़िन्दगी से थक जाउंगी तब! वक़्त से जो लड़ा वो न रहा कह...
